Supporting First Nations Minor HockeyThe Cancom Foundation is dedicated to fostering community development and empowerment through sports, with a particular focus on supporting First Nations minor hockey in Canada.
Over the past five years, we have proudly supported the Wiky Hawks minor hockey team, helping to nurture young athletes and promote the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Our commitment to the Wiky Hawks goes beyond financial assistance; we strive to create opportunities for personal growth and community pride through the sport of hockey.
In partnership with hockey legend Doug Gilmour, the Cancom Foundation has been able to enhance our support for First Nations minor hockey. Doug Gilmour’s involvement brings a wealth of experience and inspiration to the young players, providing them with unique opportunities to learn from one of the best in the sport. By providing funding for equipment, travel, and training, the Cancom Foundation ensures that the youth of the Wiky Hawks have access to the resources they need to succeed both on and off the ice. Our support aims to break down barriers and create a positive environment where young players can thrive, develop their skills, and build lasting friendships. We believe in the power of hockey to bring communities together and inspire the next generation of leaders within the First Nations. Through our ongoing partnership with the Wiky Hawks and Doug Gilmour, the Cancom Foundation remains committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of these young athletes and their communities.
